Description:
Decorative and intricate manuscript capitals are built layer by layer. Each layer is easily accomplished with the aid of Risa’s individual color plates. You will receive a pattern via email to print onto Arches Text Wove before the workshop. To ensure we get through this in one day, we will all work with the same letter. Risa will begin with a project overview, a review of the materials and will demonstrate various painting techniques. We will then paint the base colors to round out the morning. The afternoon will proceed with decorative painting and tooling demonstrations and final ‘ooohs and aaahs’ for our finished illuminated letters.
Students must be set up to take a Zoom class with video and audio (signed on one device); access to a printer is required to print some of the handouts.

PLEASE NOTE, time is 9am - 4:15. We'll start with a short period for announcements and time to say "hello" to each other, then Risa would like to have extra time to give us more information. Zoom invitation will be sent a day or two before the event.
