In this class, you will learn how to paint elegant ocean waves using watercolor. This is a great painting to relax with and is perfect to use in scrapbooks, cards, or other crafts. I will teach you the basics of controlling your watercolor. In addition, I will also be teaching you techniques, and showing different supplies in which you all will be able to experiment with. The class is open to students of all levels from beginners to advanced!

Recommended Supplies:

  • Ruler/Straightedge 
  • Pencil or pen to take notes 
  • Mixing Brush 
  • Pipette
  • Paint palette 
  • Paper towels 
  • Round brush size 14 or whatever large size you have 
  • Round brush size 0 or 2 
  • Two cups of water 
  • Dr. Martin's Bleedproof White or any opaque white paint 
  • Gouache (Winsor & Newton recommended)
  • Indigo blue 
  • A lighter, cerulean blue (*I will use Phthalo turquoise) 
  • A tan, yellow ochre, or sienna color (*I will use Burnt Sienna) 
  • Optional Teal to have on hand 
  • Watercolor Paper (Canson XL or whatever you prefer) 
  • hairdryer/embossing dryer
  • masking/painter’s tape
  • Optional: Glitter paint (this can be the palette kind)
