About the workshop: Join us for a journey to explore the exciting variations of Versal letters… 

We'll start with basic warmup exercises and study the versals using pencil and broad edge pen.  Alternative letter forms will be shared and we'll end with creating a couple of greeting card designs you can personalize with your own hand.

Workshop will be recorded and available to registered participants for one month.

SUPPLY LIST

Funky Romans

• Text weight Paper-I like sulphite paper.  It's inexpensive and is a great alternative to Arches Text Wove.  The paper is available at Dick Blick in 50, 60 and 80 lb. Any decent drawing paper will be great.  9 x 12 is a good size to work with
  
• Ruler
  
• pencil.  I like the Blackwing, but any pencil that's soft, 2B will be good.
  
• Nibs for lettering.  I like to use Mitchell size 6.  It's the smallest. I also love the EF66 nib too.  Use what you have!  
  
• Black paper, a couple of sheets
  
• Dr. Martin's Bleedproof white paint, or your favorite white paint or other that shows up on dark paper
  

Supplies for greeting card project

• White and/or Kraft paper cardstock
  
• Stencils of images - florals/botanicals, etc.
  
• Scissors
  
• Glue stick
  
• Craft paint, a few colors (or ink pad with blending tool)
  
• Small fabric bits from your stash
  
• Book pages from your stash (dictionary, music, maps, etc.)
  
• Rubber stamp script if you have, or small pattern
  
• Piece of vellum/clear tracing paper
  
• Your own practice paper from this class
  
• Bookbinding tools: Awl, thread, needle
