This is a free workshop sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Regional Group for all members of the Society for Calligraphy.
A Zoom link will be sent out a few days before the workshop date.
A recording of the workshop will be available for 30 days.
Workshop Description:
This workshop will begin with Roxanne guiding us in a gentle meditative warm-up to get our minds and bodies ready for the creative exploration of this class
Then we will explore using simple watercolor, pen, and ink supplies in a variety of techniques and layouts to create several unique handmade greeting card designs. We will create several designs together in this guided workshop.
Class will close with a short show and tell of how to digitize your physical artwork design to use online or for printing sets of cards.
Artist Bio:
Roxanne Glaser is an artist, speaker, and educator who sparks joy with her art and illustrations. She leads in-person and virtual classes, workshops, and retreats to help others get unstuck using simple, creative tools.
Supply List:
NOTE: The following supplies are what Roxanne will be using. Please substitute and use whatever you are most comfortable with or have on hand. The main thing to have is black ink/pens that are waterproof, watercolors, and “fancy” embellishment pens like glitter or metallics.

- 4.5” x 6” watercolor paper rectangles
- Practice watercolor paper

- Ecoline 337, 201, 522
- Finetec Metallic (gold, silver, bronze)
- Higgins Black Magic Ink with dip pen
Pens and Markers
- Micron 01
- Uniball UM 153 White
- Sakura Black Glaze Pen
- Sparkle Pop pens (black, silver, gold)
Other Supplies
- Watercolor brushes (Sword 1/4, flat 1/2, round 06, 03, and 01)
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Painter’s Tape for masking
