This Gala was conceived by our founding member, Kitty Maryatt. Her idea has blossomed and we are preparing for an exceptional event with your participation:
Please bring calligraphy art pieces that you may have purchased, acquired, or inherited over the years from a calligrapher you’ve admired. The art will be displayed on tables of decades—’74-’83, ’84-’93 and so on. Members can mingle through the decades with fun discussions of changes over the years. Modern, contemporary calligraphy is encouraged as well for our current decade table.
Artwork must be securely framed and/or properly protected behind a water resistant barrier, as pieces will be near food and drinks.
Hors d’oeuvre refreshments will be served. Beverages include soft drinks, coffee, tea, water. Alcoholic beverages are also available with purchase.
Special note: Larry Brady created the logo for the La Mirada Theatre back in the ’80’s and is still used to-date.
